Ignazio, italienischer Architekt, * Mailand 30. 3. 1905, ✝ Oleggio 16. 3. 1999; Vertreter der rationalen Architektur; wendete sich mit seinen eleganten Bauten gegen das monumentale Pathos faschistischer Bauwerke. Gardella berücksichtigte jeweils die örtlichen Gegebenheiten und die den Gebäuden zugrunde liegenden Funktionen, die er in einen harmonischen Zusammenhang brachte.
